On the Eve of a New Decade

"Nobody grows old merely by living a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. ~Samuel Ullman

Wondering where the last 10 years have gone...
I have mentally been counting down the days, but on the eve of my 40th, it feels a little surreal...

A few things I have learned in the past 10 years...

  • Confidence to be myself, to speak up and let my voice be heard...
  • What I am truly passionate about...
  • My love for travel and culture...
  • Family comes in many shapes, sizes, and forms...
  • Who my true friends are...
  • Sometimes you just have to let go...
  • To dream...
  • I can make my hopes and dreams turn into reality...
  • Silence is more powerful than having the last word...
  • There are two types of people...those that inspire you and those that drain you. I have learned to surround myself with those that inspire and feed my soul...
  • Surround myself with people who make me a better person...
  • I am not what I have done...I am what I have overcome...
  • I have felt fear, courage, wisdom, hope, and unconditional love...
  • My failures were the stepping stones to where I am today...
  • Thankful for those who have come into my life and to those who are no longer a part of it...I am who I am, because of all of you...
My thirties have been pretty amazing, so I imagine it can only get better from here, right?! Here's to another decade of living life to the fullest!

  1. Many happy returns of the day!! Turning 40 only feels really off when you have to write your age, not your birthdate. I screwed up a form at the doctors office with that...
Seems like you know what the decades have given you and where you go. I'm pleased that I get to be a witness to it; its been good getting to know you. :)

    1. Thank you, Susan. So happy that we crossed paths a few years ago. I am a better teacher and trainer because of you.
